This book was created to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Brinkhaus Jewelers, with locations in Vancouver, British Columbia, and Calgary, Alberta. While working for Foundry Communications, I was senior designer on this project. I designed the book, composed the illustrations, and art directed the photo shoots. This work is inspired by the story behind each piece of jewelry, from the designer who first sketches a piece to the goldsmith who interprets the concept to the person who finally enjoys the finished product. The story begins on the cover and connects each story through embossed lines and gold ink that continue throughout the book. The use of gold ink creates a feeling of tradition and celebration, which adds a romantic and emotional connection for the reader.
